Querol Awards 11 Cops in Western Visayas
Eleven policemen from various units in Western Visayas received the Medalya ng Kagalingan (PNP Medal of Merit), from PRO 6 Regional Director Chief Supt. Cipriano Querol, Jr. during flag raising yesterday at PRO 6 headquarters, Camp Delgado, Iloilo City. The awards were based on the accomplishments of policemen in terms of peacekeeping.
Pol. Supt. Sally Manuel, PIO, PRO 6 reported that six personnel from Iloilo City Police Office were awarded Medalya ng Kagalingan (PNP Medal of Merit) for the arrest of Samuel Manejero y Quiling, one of the Most Wanted Persons in the province of Iloilo and suspect for the shooting of Nestor Calesterio, Kimberly Claire Umadhay last January 3, 2012 at JM Basa Street, Iloilo City and held hostage the person of Bernard Hu at St. Joseph Lumber on Solis Street, Iloilo City.
The awardees were Police Superintendent Giovannni A. Musico, PSupt. Uldarico A. Garbanzos, Police Chief Inspector Dandy B. Deocampo, PCInsp. Efren B. Lozada, Police Officer 1 Lee J. Demandante and PO 1 Michael F. Malan.
While four members of the Negros Occidental Police Office (NOPPO) were also awarded Medalya ng Kasanayan (PNP Efficiency Medal) for the arrest of Rene Alvarez y Galor alias “Boy-boy” and Reymund Ta-ala, wanted persons for Murder, Attempted Murder, Frustrated Murder, Assault Upon Agent of Person in Authority, Violation of PD 1866 as amended by RA 8294 and Violation of RA 9516.
Awardees were PSupt. Antonietto Y. Caniete, PSInsp. Hercules Trigue, PO3 Leonel Verzosa and PO2 Joelan G. Vinson.
These accomplishments are indeed manifestations that members of Police Regional Office 6 have been doing their job well in making Western Visayas peaceful and progressive place.
PSSupt. Ligaya L. Sim, the outgoing Chief, Police Regional Office 6 Crime Laboratory, as resource speaker during the ceremony, emphasized that “in order to be the best in one’s chosen field, we must always strive for excellence.
