‘Bet Solicitor’ Busted

An alleged bet solicitor was arrested in Bago City during an operation by local police authorities against illegal gambling, recently.

PSupt. Simeon L. Gane Jr., police chief with Task Force Illegal Gambling led by SPO3 Lolito Tinaya, PO3 Angelo Geroche and PO2 Ruben Jen Tamon apprehended Melody Asenita, 28, of Purok Kawayanan, Brgy. Taloc in Bago City.

Asenita was busted in the act soliciting bets of illegal numbers game known as jai-alai with code name Target.

Recovered from her possession were; a unit of Samsung cellphone, one ballpoint pen, one white paper with number combination, two pieces jai-alai tipster with code number Target, betting money of P113.25 in different denominationas believed to be proceeds from the gambling act.

Suspect is presently detained at the lock up cell of Bago City Police Station and will face charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9287 or an Act Increasing the Penalties for Illegal Numbers Games.*
