2 Most Wanted Guimarasnon Brothers Nabbed in Bacolod City
Two of the Most Wanted Persons in Guimaras province, reportedly brothers, were hooked in Bacolod City in two separate operations conducted by elements of the Guimaras Provincial Police Office Special Operations Group (SOG) led by PInsp. Rolando D. Arano with the assistance of Police Station 2 and 3 of Bacolod City Police Office and members of the Negros Provincial Police Office.
According to Sr. Supt. Juanita S. Nebran, Guimaras Provincial Police Office director, the arrested brother suspects are facing criminal charges in court for murder and frustrated murder, so they have been the subject of surveillance by the Guimaras PNP for several days.
Nebran said: “I am happy that the operating team of Guimaras PNP, the Special Operations Group (SOG) has been very active in our campaign, which is to account all wanted persons in our area of responsibility.”
This campaign is also in support of the 10 Action Plans of the Chief PNP Police Director General Nicanor A. Bartolome, which is the accounting of Wanted Persons and Service of Warrants. PSInsp. Sally Manuel, PIO, PRO 6 said, suspect Elmer Tahum y Doronilla, 39, single, of Barangay San Isidro, Sibunag, Guimaras was arrested at Purok Riverside, Bata, Bacolod City at around 8:00 p.m. of Wednesday, January 18, 2012.
Tahum has a pending arrest order no. 10-11-01 for the crime of murder docketed in criminal case no. 10-1633 and rank no. 6 in the Top 10 Most Wanted Persons of Guimaras.
While his brother suspect Rafael Tahum, Jr. y Doronilla, 35, single, also of Barangay San Isidro, Sibunag, Guimaras was arrested in a continuous operation conducted by joint elements of GPPO SOG and BCPO at Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, Bacolod City at about 7:30 a.m. of January 19, 2012. Younger Tahum has a pending order of arrest no. 06-11-06 for two counts frustrated murder, docketed as criminal case no. 06-1054. Bail bond recommended for his temporary liberty was fixed at P 200,000.00.
Their orders of arrest were duly signed and issued by Judge Merlin D. Deloria, of RTC Branch 65, Jordan, Guimaras. Suspects are now in the custody of Guimaras PNP for proper disposition.*
