Lyndon Monton y Aguillon, 31 years old, single, of Sitio Barangay, Brgy. Enclaro, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental, denied having committed the gory crime of beheading a 6-year-old boy on Sunday, 2:30 P.M.

The incident was reported to the Binalbagan Police Station by Rona May Alcala y Tabat, of legal age, resident of the same place, relative of the victim, MJ Aguirre. Earlier, two boys were allegedly lured by Monton to go with him at the dumpsite of Hacienda Pula, Brgy.San Pedro, Binal-bagan, with the promise to give them something. One of the boys, a playmate of MJ, named Nicos Jampulina y Bahilidad, 8 years old, was left alone and told by Monton to stay behind first along the road, and he brought MJ into the midst of sugarcane plantation. Then Nicos heard the MJ crying hard, so he felt nervous, and ran to the nearby house and reported the situation. Immediately, the elements of Binalbagan Police with the intent to rescue, but Monton have allegedly fled, and they saw the body of MJ, lifeless, while his head was totally decapitated.

Dr. Hazel Pagunzan, municipal physician of Binal-bagan, conducted the post-mortem examination on the body of MJ. She told police investigators that the victim instantly died after his head was several with a bladed weapon, while both of his eyes were plucked and broken.

The suspect vehemently denied involvement in the said incident. Binalbagan Police Station Chief Police Insp. Albert Hucalla Sy said, investigation is still going on as to the motive of the crime, conducted by PO3 Portia Nillosan, Officer on case, chief of Women and Child-ren’s Department.

PInsp Sy also said, Monton has just been released from rehabilitation in the REACH Rehab Center at Paglaum Village in Bacolod City. He is still at the detention cell of Binalbagan PNP pending investigation of the case.

Meanwhile, the 31-year old suspect who reportedly beheaded the 6-year old boy in Binalbagan town denied the crime but admitted being in drug rehabilitation center for a year.

Police report disclosed that Lyndon Monton, of Sitio Barangay, Brgy. Enclaro was immediately arrested by local police officers for allegedly luring the boy, MJ Aguirre inside a sugarcane plantation located at the dumpsite of Hacienda Pula, Brgy. San Pedro.

The victim was with two other boys but ran away when they heard Aguirre scream.

SPO4 Renato Morales conducted an ocular investigation in the area and discovered the boy’s body.

Monton denied doing anything against the boy but admitted having been submitted to a drug rehabilitation center for drug use.

Post mortem examination by Dr. Hazel Pagunsan said the boy died when the head was severed from the body using a bladed weapon.
Further investigation to determine motive of the case is still underway.* (RRM)
