Festival: San Enrique 130th Annual Town Fiesta & 10th Bulang-Bulang Festival Opens Today

san enrique Bulang - Bulang Festival is celebrated every February 2-9. The festival gives recognition to the game fowl industry which is one of the major sources of livelihood of the town. Bulang-bulang is a character dance presentation which depicts the life and character of the fighting cock.*

The Municipality of San Enrique, Negros Occidental headed by Mayor Mario “Mayok” E. Magno and Vice-Mayor Abner D. Jardinico and Sangguniang Bayan Members, Barangay and Municipal Officials and department heads will spearhead the Opening Ceremonies of the 130th Annual Town Fiesta and 10th Bulang-Bulang Festival 2012 today February 2 to February 9, 2012.

Opening of the Agri Tourism Fair will start in the morning at 9:30 A.M. at the Municipal Grounds and a Street Parade in honor of Our Lady of Purity Academy Day with Coronation Night in the evening at the Municipal Gym. Tomorrow, February 3,-Friday- There will be a cooking showdown in the morning at the Gym while San Enrique Elementary School and DepEd Day and Binayle Day will start at 1:00 P.M. to 5:30 P.M.. On Saturday-February 4- Farmers Day (Aton Ni Ya!), Pinaka Competition and the 4th SK 9- Ball Billiard Competition in the morning. Wonderland Kinder School will start at 2:00 P.M. to 5:30 P.M. at the Gym. The San Enrique Elementary School Alumni Night will start at 7:30 P.M. On Sunday- February 5- Jobs Fair 2012 at 9:00 A.M. at the Municipal Gym while the Motocross and Mountain Bike Challenge 2012 will start at 7:00 A.M. at Bangga Patyo. First Bugal sang Tinobaganon Awards Night and Women Council “Bongga Ka Nay 2012” will be at 7:00 P.M. at the Gym.

On February 6- Monday- Pinta Lawas (Body Painting Competition) and the Opening of the San Enrique Pasalu-bong Center, the display of San Enrique’s Pride products like native and delicious such as buko pie, baye-baye, rice cakes, panara, empanada, kalamayhati, lumpia fresca and prito, suman latik, chicken barbeque, seafoods and many others will be on display for guests and visitors to taste and sell to the public at very affordable prices including to be displayed are native agricultural and commercial products-furnitures,cabinets, wall decors, ornamental plants, fresh fruits, flowers, souvenir items etc... San Enrique National High School COCO Festival will start at 2:00 P.M. onwards. February 7- Tuesday- Fisherman’s Day (Aton Ni Ya!) in the morning at 8:00 A.M. followed by ALGANO: A Day with ALGANIANS and ABS-CBN Barangay Kapamilya at 2:00 P.M. to 4:30 P.M. at the Municipal Gym.

The Search for Tinobagan Star 2012 ( The Big Night), Evening with The Star at 7:00 P.M.

On Wednesday, February 8, 2012- The Grand Civic Parade will start at 8:00 A.M. followed by the Drum and Bugle Corp Presentations at 9:30 A.M. at the Gym. Opening of Inter-Town Basketball Tournament at 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Gym. ABC Night: SMB Night will be at 8: 30 P.M. and General Technical Bulang-Bulang Festival Queen at 9:00 P.M. On Thursday- February 9, 2012-Fiesta Day- Pamukaw at 4:00 A.M. The highlights will be the Bulang-Bulang Festival Street Dance Competition at 2:00 P.M. followed by the Bulang-Bulang Showdown at 3:30 P.M. at the Municipal Gym. Fire Works Display at 7:30 P.M. and Binayle at 10:30 P.M.

Expected to grace the occasion were Congressman Jeffrey P. Ferrer of the 4th District of Negros Occidental, Governor Alfredo G. Mara-ñon, Vice-Governor Genaro “Lim-ao” Alvarez, Provincial Board Members Joeben Alonso and Mae Javellana and other Provincial Board Members of Negros Occidental, Association of Chief Executives, VMLP-NOC, PCL-Negros Occidental Chapter, foreign guests and dignitaries.*

Members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) in the Locale of Tangub and other locales in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental, are inviting the public to their ‘Pamamahayag’, during which they will present the teachings and doctrines of the INC.
