The Bacolod City Host Lions Club recently turned-over a check for P50,000.00 representing the club’s financial assistance to the orphanage. Lions club president Marxlen De la Cruz said the nursery has already helped hundreds of infants who are orphans or abandoned, for more than 37 years and the Lions are committed to continue its support. The donation was made during the celebration of the Feast of Santo Niño last January 29, 2011, where Bacolod City Vice Mayor Thaddy Sayson was guest of honor. In his message, Vice Mayor Sayson praised the Board of Trustees for their work and assured them of the city government’s continued support.
The Holy Infant Nursery was established in 1975 by the Bacolod City Host Lions Club during the incumbency of the late Luis Lizares as president of the club. The nursery takes care of orphaned or abandoned children up to 6 years old. Many of the nursery’s residents have been adopted by foster parents from here and abroad.*
