The blessing and inauguration of the newly renovated Guintubdan Visitor’s Pavilion and Garden at the Eco-Tourism Park in Barangay Ara-al, La Carlota City was held yesterday, February 3.

Spearheading the activity were Vice Governor Genaro “Lim-ao” Alvarez, La Carlota City Mayor Juliet Marie D. Ferrer and 4th district Congressman Jeffrey P. Ferrer; Provincial Board Members Joeben Alonso and Mae Javellana, Provincial Tourism Consultant Nancy Pestaño, La Carlota Vice Mayor David T. Baga Jr., Sangguniang Panlungsod Members Karen Aguirre, Ciriaco Sia, Julian Chiang, Jacob Liansing, Rex Jalando-on, Jaime Mariño, Manuel Padilla, ABC President Amalia Aguirre Francisco Oplas SK Fed. President Richard Sebastian Benedicto. Rev. Fr. Hubert Javellana officiated the blessing ceremony.

Also present were Mayor Rommel Yogore of Valladolid, Mayor Joemar Alonso of Pontevedra, SBM Alexander Delfinado and SBM Kim Lanzar of San Enrique, Vice-Mayor Nico Yulo, Mt. Kanla-on National Park Superindent-Cecille Cañada, Fire Marshall-Legaspi, Police Chief- Eduardo Corpuz Audie Calderon-Executive Asst. Pontevedra, Barangay Captain-Tony Custodio-Brgy. 3, Erlinda B. Domingo-Barangay 2, Jose Luis Jalandoni-Brgy. 1, Nanette Escarza- La Granja, Edmar Aries-RSB, Executive Asst. Edgardo Canlas, Former Mayor Demie John C. Hondrado, Homer B province.” He likewise congratulated the La Carlota City Government and its barangay officials in making the newly renovated Guintubdan Visitor’s Pavilion and Garden successful.

Mayor Juliet Marie D. Ferrer in her welcome remarks said, “This is a place close to my heart, the place where Congressman Jeffrey P. Ferrer told me how he felt about me. It’s a personal attachment. Thank you also to Architech Lee Debulgado who made the design and concepts. Guintubdan Visitor’s Pavilion and Garden is one of the tourist destinations of the Province. A tourist attraction and be hope that the provincial government will give importance to this project and I would like to congratulate all the barangay and city officials for the whole-hearted support and cooperation in making this project successful to be benefit of the people of La Carlota, Congresman Ferrer pointed out.

Vice-Governor Genaro “Lim-ao “ Alvarez in his message said,” I will inform Governor Alfredo G. Marañon for whatever assistance the province could be of help to the City of La Carlota.” He added that there will be no problem in advertizement with the province.*
