Sports: Tangub Regains 1st Loss in Inter-Church Cagefest
Tangub Missionary Baptist Church lost its first match Saturday but came back Sunday to even its win-loss card in the 1st 2012 Inter-Church Basketball League at Villamonte Gym, Bacolod City.
TMBC reinforced by Kurtis Goodwin, once a draftee of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and founder of Fastbreak Ministry, USA lost its first match at Tangub Gym against River of Life International Ministries, 83-78, also reinforced by former PBA Leo Bat-og Saturday.
TMBC came Sunday at Villamonte Gym taming Massebah Christian Church, 90-74.
Grace Bible Church defeated Church of the Nazarene, 84-42, in the other match Saturday.
On Sunday, Ikthus East at Circle Inn beat Bacolod Promise Land of Barangay Villamonte, 85-81 for their initial wins.
Eight Bible preaching churches are competing in every weekend schedule matches until March 18, according to tournament commissioner Nestor A. Ordonio.
The tournament will be a single round robin format with the top four teams to advance to crossover semifinals. The winners will dispute the title, while the losers will settle for runner-up honors. Trophies will be awarded to the winners.
The eight churches were Tangub Missionary Baptist Church; Massebah Christian Church located at Burgos-Lopez Jaena Streets, Bacolod City; Ikthus East located at Circle Inn; Grace Bible Church at Plazamart, Bacolod; Bacolod Promise Land at Barangay Villamonte; River of Life International Ministries at 4th Street, Lacson, Bacolod City; 1st Bethany Church Shepherds at Homesite, Bacolod City and Church of the Nazarene located at Rizal Street, Bacolod City.
Ordonio said, this is part of the ministry they want to express which starts
from Bible believing churches to foster camaraderie and Christian friendship.*
