Busines: Gov. Marañon Leads Groundbreaking of a Housing Project in Manapla
Gov. Alfredo G. Marañon, Jr. lead in the groundbreaking ceremony of the three-hectare St. Joseph the Worker Village located in Brgy. Purisima, Municipality of Manapla, yesterday.
It is a Provincial Housing Project of Negros Occidental in coordination with Pag-IBIG Home Development Mutual Fund, through the Pabahay Program of Vice President Jejomar Binay.
Present in the activity a Board Members Salvador Escalante, Jr. and Dr. Miller Serondo of the Second District, Mayor Lourdes Escalante of Manapla, Mayor Leo Rafael Cueva of Sagay, Vice Mayor Edgar
Pagayonan of Manapla, Executive Asst. to the Governor Manuel Escalante, III, personnel from DepEd-Manapla and the municipal councilors.
They were also joined by Wilmer Lirazan, Pag-IBIG Asst. Manager for Operation, a representative of the Pabahay Program under the Office of the President.
Gov. Marañon said that the town of Manapla is the first in Negros Occ. to have such provincial housing program. He added that a total of 70 houses will be constructed during its initial phase. Gov. Marañon and Rep. Thirdy Marañon will each share in the amortization to further help the recipients.
The facilities and amenities include a clubhouse with park and playground and a guardhouse.*(Capitol News)
