Local News: Jimena Funeral Set Today

The funeral of former Bacolod City Office of the Youth, Sports, and Development head, Gregorio “Greg” Jimena is set today, 2pm at the Rose Lawn Funeral Homes in Bacolod City.

Jimena, 73, passed away early Saturday morning, Feb.4 at the Bacolod Adventist Medical Center in Barangay Taculing, Bacolod.

According to his wife, Pauline, her husband suffered asthma before they brought him to the hospital last Friday for immediate medical attention. However, Jimena succumbed to cardiac arrest due to asthma the next morning.

Jimena, was born on September 26, 1938 and served as OYSD head during the time of the late Mayor Alfredo Montelibano Jr. and the early years of Mayor Evelio Leonardia’s administration. He focused on the development of amateur boxing in this city during his time.

He also served as Regional Director of Bantay Bayan Foundation in 2010.* (JGToga/SCOOP-Bacolod)

Members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) in the Locale of Tangub and other locales in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental, are inviting the public to their ‘Pamamahayag’, during which they will present the teachings and doctrines of the INC. The Pamamahayag will be held at 7PM on Monday January 9 and on Tuesday 10 at the Tangub chapel and in other locale chapels. Those interested to listen can just come and be guests.
