Sports: 1st Mayor Doc Eric Saratan Tablenet Set Feb.10-11

The 1st Mayor Doc Eric Saratan Table Tennis Invitational is set to unfold on Friday, February 10 & 11 at the Tayabas Elementary School in Talisay City.

The event, which is part of Talisay City’s 14th Pasidungog Festival, is in cooperation with the Royal Paddle Table Tennis Club headed by Arnie Uy.

According to Uy, the tournament is open to all Negrense paddlers and will be competing in a team event format.

“Each team will consist of 3 players, leveled as class A, B & C. The team’s composition will be either in an all-men’s team, all-women’s team or mixed,” Uy explained.

Among the top paddlers to watch for are Ervin Bomban and Ferdinand Jong of Bacolod City and host’s pride Anthony Berja and Joel Paran, Uy said.

The champion team of this tournament will receive a trophy and P3,000 cash while the first runner-up will have a trophy & P2,000 cash, and the second runner-up will take home a trophy & P1,000 cash.

“All non-winners of this tournament will be given each a paddle rubber,” Uy stressed.

Meanwhile, world class tables will be used in this tournament namely, Double Happiness and Andro.
