Local News: VP Binay Accepts Bing’s Invitation as Mass Wedding Sponsor

Vice President Jejomar Binay has accepted the invitation of Mayor Evelio Leonardia to sponsor the 750 couples’ mass wedding on Valentine’s Day.

This was relayed yesterday to the Mayor by Ann Binay, appointment secretary of the Vice President.

The biggest mass wedding on Valentine’s Day will happen in Bacolod City and it will be witnessed by the Vice President of the country.

Leonardia is glad that Binay will grace this historic event. “I am elated that VP Binay accepted my invitation as surely his presence will mean a lot to the couples to be wed and to their families and friends,” Leonardia said.

Binay will witness the mass wedding of 750 couples on February 14, Valentine’s Day, 4:00 p.m., on the grounds of Bacolod City Government Center.

This year, Pag-IBIG Fund co-ponsors the mass wedding project dubbed, “I do, I do.” This is a unique mass wedding because the couples who are members of PAG-IBIG will be entitled to participate in the raffle of a house and lot.

Then they will be treated by PAG-IBIG Fund and Bacolod’s business tycoon Ric Yanson, to a romantic dinner beside the fountain in front of the Government Center.

Leonardia is inviting the family and friends of the mass wedding couples, and the public as well, to witness the wonderful event. He is encouraging them to hold picnic dinner on the grounds of the Government Center. However, he is asking them to refrain from bringing tables and chairs.*
