4874. AT THE START, CJ Corona submitted himself humbly before the Senate impeachment court believing that it will be fair and just, and that it will respect his rights as protected by the Constitution, he went along with much trust in its wisdom only to find out that his already vilified image and damaged reputation are subjected to endless persecutory actions that trampled his rights in proving his innocence inside and outside the courtroom. The court allowed procedural and judicial leniency that is being abused daily and left him no recourse but to seek relief from the proper institution that interprets the laws of the land. - Edouard Garcia

4873. CORONA’S. At the resumption of the impeachment proceeding on February 6, BIR Commissioner Kim Henares said that there are discrepancies in the SALN of Chief Justice Renato Corona from 2003 to 2010. She said, in 2003, the nine properties in Marikina were not declared in his SALN as well as the La Vista property. He only declared P7 million net worth but she said it should be P14 million. In 2004, a lot in Diliman, QC and a condominium unit worth P27 million were not declared in his SALN. She said that Corona’s net worth in 2004 should be P21 million and not P7 million as he declared. In 2005 and 2006, she said he only declared P8 million net worth instead of the real P31.2 million. In 2007, she said that he should have declared a net worth of P24.7 million and not P11 million. In 2009, Henares said that Corona’s net worth is P52 million and not P14.5 million he declared. 09107389936
