Feature: Why Not Choose Love?
It is always a monumental task for me to write something as perfect as love. For love is encompassing, so vague for words and at the same time, so perfect for it. It is present in your life from the dawning of your existence till the hour when you will bid adieu to life with your last sigh.
As my favorite poet Kahlil Gibran put it, “Love has no desire but to fulfill itself. To melt and be like a running brook that sings its melody to the night. To wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving.”
Love in its ‘perfect-ness’ does not think of its own fulfillment but that of another person, for in your giving, love replenishes itself so you’ll never feel that nagging emptiness that most of us are afraid of.
According to an essay I read, it advices us to take time to know each other’s heart - to become more understanding and less quick to misunderstand another’s intentions, which probably were never meant to hurt or upset you to begin with.
Everyday, we are given the choice, whether to wallow in anguish and never stop tormenting ourselves to the point of delusions. Or, we could decide to brighten the day with that great love in our heart to every person we meet along the way. To try to taper that venomous loathing about someone who walks in the opposite side of your road.
And as we ponder on the choice that we will make, we must understand that both can be passed on.
Why not choose love instead? For love causes less of just about everything negative in the world.
Remember that we are conceived in love, blessed about just everything in the world because of God’s love, going about our every day thinking of the so many wonderful reasons of our existence because of love. Until, we reach that end of the road with finality, though our body frail for the many years of loving, yet our heart still sings that eternal melody and our spirit soars to the arms of that great one, who is and will always be Love Himself, our loving God.
Happy Love Day everyone! *
