In its bid to promote Negros Occidental/Bacolod to the World Travel Market, SKAL International Bacolod President, Atty. John N. Orola, Jr. is launching new tour products that will bring SKAL International members to the Philippines. SKAL International is an elite organization of Travel and Tourism Executives and Professionals, Hotel and Resort owners, Tourism and Hospitality Management Schools with 20,000 members worldwide based in Scandinavian countries.

Atty. John N. Orola, Jr. who has recently reorganized SKAL International Bacolod Chapter has new recruits from the travel trade and the Academe in Bacolod City who will develop, promote new tour products to make Negros Island a new destination in the Philippines.

Among the new tour activities to make Negros Island a new destination in the Philippines is the promotion of Pilgrimage Shrines Tours in Bacolod City which have been frequently visited by the devotees of the Catholic Faith Churches such as Shrine of the Divine Mercy, Shrine of St. Lorenzo Ruiz, Shrine of the Sacred Heart, Shrine of St. Jude, Shrine of the Sto. Niño, Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, Shrine of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Shrine of the Miraculous Medal, Shrine of St. Don Bosco, Shrine of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary.

Father Felix Pasquin, Rector of the Diocese of San Sebastian said that the Pilgrimage Shrines will be introduced to the public on February 23, 2012 at the Bacolod Pavillon Hotel at 7:00 p.m. and has the full support of Bacolod Diocese Bishop Vicente Navarra.

The launching will be highlighted by a video presentation on the 10 religious shrines in the Diocese of Bacolod and a musical concert by The Ange-los, the rising Filipino classical-pop tenor trio dubbed by the local media as Asia’s answer to the world famous Il Divo.

Tickets at the concert are available at Casa Orola, Rizal-Hilado Sts. c/o Mae Joy Barnuevo/Grace Alunan, with telephone number 4330353 and at the parishes of said shrines. Proceeds of the concert shall be donated to the shrines for its maintenance and support.*
