Local News: 1 Killed, 3 Hurt in Stabbing and Hacking Incidents
A Bagoeño was killed, while three others were wounded in a separate stabbing and hacking incidents that occurred over the weekend in Negros Occidental.
NOPPO reports revealed that 26-year old Jesrel Pavillo, of Purok Santan, Brgy. Abuanan was pronounced dead by attending physician at the City’s hospital facility after sustaining multiple stab wounds on his body.
Initial police investi-gation said, Pavillo was attending the village revelry and was at the dance hall when approached by an unidentified suspect and stabbed.
The suspect fled to unknown direction.
Meanwhile, Jojo Matti, 31, of Sitio Wawa, Brgy. Pandanon-Silos, Murcia was also rushed to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) when hit on his back with a bladed weapon. Matti was allegedly stabbed by Danny dela Cruz, of Purok Tangke and was collared by the village tanods and turned over to the local police station.
Finally, Vicente Cahayagan, 48, and his 15-year old son were confined at Eleuterio T. Decena Memorial Hospital for treatment of their hack wounds on different parts of their body allegedly inflicted by brothers Jupiter, 24, and Jonathan Quiñanola, 19, both of Brgy. Talacagay in Hinoba-an.
Probers said the suspects were under the influence of liquor and had a disagreement with the victims resulting to the attack.
Follow-up investigation is being conducted while criminal charges are being prepared for filing against the suspects.*
