Business: Bacolod - Boracay v.v. Flights to be Launched

Considering the increasing bulk of tourists from Bacolod City going to the famous Boracay Island Resort in Aklan, top officials of Mid-Sea Express decided to launch flights this April.Mid-Sea consultant Glenn Lamela, said the trip to Boracay is only 15 minutes. Mid-Sea Express aircraft is a 19-seater jet.
Former Bacolod congressman John Orola, Jr.is behind the idea, and soon the flights to Boracay from Bacolod.
Lamela said, Boracay, the world’s second largest best beach, is taking the interest of of people in the country, “so we tapped the airline to service the Bacolodnons, for a convenient trip to Boracay instead of taking other options”.
Lamela paid a courtesy call on Bacolod officials.
He hopes to get the support of the officials especially the mayor for the undertaking to help spur tourism.
Boracay and Bacolod will offer an excellent travel option since it will provide a perfect combination of white beach and the culture, golf, culinary attraction found in Bacolod, he said.
They are planning to have two flights every week ( Monday and Friday) depending on the market in Bacolod.
Mid-SEA Express is a VIP configured aircraft, almost presidential, based in Cebu and operating at Terminal 2.
The airline is operating in Cebu to Camiguin Island and Bohol, and Bohol to Cagayan De Oro.
Opening flights for Bacolod-Boracay vice versa routes will cater to more tourists to Bacolod, Lamela said.*
