Business: Bacolod Officials Observe Bayawan City Sanitary Landfill Project
As part of the Best Practice Observation Tour of Cities under DELGOSEA, Bacolod City officials visited the Sanitary Landfill Project of Bayawan City in Negros Oriental.
Led by Mayor Evelio Leonardia and Vice Mayor Thaddy Sayson, the group was comprised of other officials, barangay captains, and Brenda Burdeus of CCLDO.
Bayawan Vice Mayor Ismael Martinez and other local officials welcomed the Bacolod visitors. He guided them to the Sanitary Landfill Project, and the composting area of collected garbage.
In Bayawan City, the area formerly dumped with garbage, because source of vegetables supplied to the markets, composted garbage are used as fertilizers of vegetables and other plants.
Such practices in Bayawan will be adopted in the Sanitary Landfill of Bacolod.
Composting strategy will also be adopted by the barangay officials in their respective areas.* (EBColmo)
