Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. said he will invite President Benigno Aquino III to the inauguration of the 150-bed extension facility of the Teresita L. Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City.
The schedule of the inauguration was not determined yet.
The governor said Aquino had also attended its groundbreaking in March last year.
As for the additional equipment,Marañon said the Department of Health has given the TLJPH a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machine worth P50 million.
This machine is used in detecting and delineating tumors and in providing images of the brain, the heart, and other soft-tissue organs.
The bidding for the MRI has already been conducted and the machine is set for delivery soon, he said.
Meanwhile, Marañon said the construction of seven new cottages with 28 rooms costing about P27 million at the Mambukal Resort in Murcia town is nearing completion, and will be turned over to the resort management next week.*
