Local News: Man Killed, Wife Wounded in Kabankalan City Shooting
A mechanic was killed when shot by still unidentified persons, Sunday night in Brgy. Bantayan in Kabankalan City, while his wife was rushed to the nearest hospital facility for treatment of gunshot wounds.
Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) reports revealed that Alejandro Calambro, 35, and his wife, 33-year old Virginia were shot by two unidentified persons who were allegedly riding-in-tandem on board a motorcycle.
The couple was brought to Lorenzo Zayco Districto Hospital for immediate treatment; however, Calambro was declared dead by attending physicians due to multiple gunshot wounds. His wife on the other hand was shot on the lower right arm and sustained injuries on the head.
Kabankalan City Police Station probe stated that the couple was riding their motorcycle on the way home from Sitio Lower Baras to Brgy. Bantayan Proper when shot by the suspects traversing the opposite lane.
Follow-up investigation to determine the motive of the incident and identify the assailants is being conducted.
Body of the victim was brought to D & D Funeral Parlor for post mortem examination.*
