One Thousand Seven Hundred Twenty Six (1,726) successful students were conferred their respective degree courses at the 13th Commencement Exercises of Northern Negros State College of Science and Technology held at the NONESCOST Gymnasium, Barangay Old Sagay, Sagay City recently with the theme: ISO Certification: Another Milestone towards Global Competitiveness.

Engr. Joel A. Cuardo- College Registrar presented the candidates for graduation and Dr. Rogelio T. Artajo -SUC President confirmed the candidates for graduation of Ph D, MAED, MN, MPA graduates, and Baccalaureate Degrees, Ladderized & Short Term Courses.

Kevin T. Castillon-VisMin Representative of AJA- Anglo Japanese American Registrars Incorporated Awarded the AJA ISO 9001-2008 Certificate to NON-ESCOST President-Dr. Roger T. Artajo.

Guest of Honor and Speaker- Vice-President Jejomar Binay represented by Senator Aquilino "Koko"Pimentel who delivered the message of the Vice-President, lauded the performance of "NONESCOST as the Center of Excellence in Education".

Mayor Leo Rafael M. Cueva -Sagay City represented by Atty. Ryan Bonghanoy-City Administrator delivered the message of Mayor Cueva." Rest assured that the City Government of Sagay will support all your activities and undertakings. Your continued support to the city will serve as inspiration to others in bringing quality education especially to the underprivileged brothers and sisters. "We can always be proud of you and commend all Members of the NONESCOST community headed by Dr. Roge-lio T. Artajo for their continued efforts in making this institution the most competitive in the province of Negros Occidental and in making your way to the national level. Your impressive rating in the field of Nursing, Criminology and Education and continued update in Information Technology and Agriculture are your leading proof of continued drive for excellence.

May these achievements inspire you to move further to give more quality tertiary education not only for the people of Sagay but for the entire province of Negros Occidental."

Dr. Rogelio T. Artajo-SUC President’s message said," When I assume presidency of NONES-COST 8 years ago I made a promise to make NONESCOST-A Center of Excellence in Education, in science and technology. Together with your administrators, clinical instructors, teachers, the working staff, the support of the local government and various government agencies and institutions and friends, we have kept our word and made good that promise. The accreditation of our curricular programs, the outstanding performance of our graduates in board and licensure exams, the recognition of NONESCOST’s research outputs and extension services as among the best, if not the best in the Region and lately, the institutional assessment and awarding to NONESCOST of an ISO certification by the AJA Registrar’s Inc. (ISO stands for International Organization for Standardization) give NONESCOST an international status and recognition of the College as a Center of Excellence in Education in this part of the country. "We are first and only ISO 9001-2008 Certified Institution in our Region.To them and to you , graduates and your parents, NONESCOST owes its remarkable achievement in the pursuit of its mission and mission. With the end of my term, I now bid you goodbye and thank you for all the support you have given my administration". Dr. Rogelio T. Artajo -College President’s farewell message said.

With teary-eyes he received his 8 years plaque of appreciation from the NONESCOST Board of Trustees.*

Members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) in the Locale of Tangub and other locales in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental, are inviting the public to their ‘Pamamahayag’, during which they will present the teachings and doctrines of the INC. The Pamamahayag will be held at 7PM on Monday January 9 and on Tuesday 10 at the Tangub chapel and in other locale chapels. Those interested to listen can just come and be guests.
