Sports: LLP Reconsiders BLL’s Entry in Phl Series

Bacolod Little League President Sammy Montoyo’s appeal to allow the Bacolod-based leaguers to join this year’s Philippine Series in Clark Field, Angeles City, Pampanga scheduled April 8-15, 2012 was reconsidered by the Little League of the Philippines.

In his conversation with acting LLP administrator Chito Gonzales, Montoyo stressed that reconsidering the charter’s plea to join the tournament will help him further strengthen the implementation of the BLL’s long-term program. This will help unite all schools and teams in Bacolod as part of its goal, he added.

"The teams that were immediately reconsidered are Bacolod’s little league baseball and major league softball, which will be represented by the Education and Training Center School (ETCS). However, in the case of Domingo Lacson National High School, they have to comply with several conditions required by the LLP, which is confidential at this moment," Montoyo said.

On Thursday, LLP denied BLL’s appeal to participate in this year’s Philippine Series.

In a text message from Gonzalez to Montoyo, it stated: "Sammy, regret to inform you that we cannot accommodate your team to participate in the 2012 Philippine Series because of financial constraint. Second, they (Bacolod team) informed us their intent to participate pass the deadline. Third, tournament dates have to be extended by at least 2 days which we cannot afford. Thank you for all the supports and I hope you understand."* (JGToga)
