Local News: Man in Drugs Collared

A resident of Victorias City with warrant of arrest for violation of the Illegal Drugs Act was apprehended by local police authorities, about 10PM, Tuesday inside an internet cafe.

PSupt. Alexander A. Muñoz, Victorias City Police chief served the 2 counts of order of arrest against Glen Quiamco for violation of section 11 (Illegal possession) of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, while inside Mabs Internet Shop along Montinola St., in Brgy. 4.

Quiamco, 34, of Adoracion St., Canetown Subd., Brgy. 19-A was facing two counts of illegal possession of drugs in criminal case numbers 8575-69 2012-25 and 8576-69 2012-53. The orders were issued by Regional Trial Court (RTC) 6th Judicial Region branch 69-Silay City Judge Felipe G. Banzon on April 10, 2012.

Recovered from his possession were; one cellular phone, Swiss knife with lighter measuring 6 inches from tip to handle, driver’s license, pawnshop receipt, black-colored wallet containing P400, Small Town Lottery cotejos, 4 XRM motorcycle keys and one 125 XRM motorcycle with motor number XRM 162406 and without plate number.

Bails amounting to P200, 000.00 AND P40, 000.00 were fixed for his temporary release.

Meanwhile, charges for violation of sections 5 (pushing/selling) and 11, of RA 9165 was filed against Ronald dela Cruz alias Budi before Silay City Prosecutors Office, Fiscal Thelma J. Seva through an inquest proceedings.

Both men are presently detained at their respective local police station detention cells.*
