Sports: WNU to Host Negros Elims of Batang PBA on May 5

The LNA7 Memorial Sports Center of the West Negros University will play host to the 2012 Batang PBA – Negros eliminations on May 5, 2012.

Tony Agustin, provincial director of the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP), said the tournament will run until May 15 with the champion from Negros Occidental advancing to the regional finals against Cebu and Iloilo set on May 19 to 20, 2012 at the same venue. The regional champion will represent Visayas in the national finals in Manila on May 17 to June 1.

Under the guidelines, each team is composed of 12 players with 3 born in 1996, another 3 born on 1997, the other 3 born in 1998, and the last 3 born in 1999.

Teams shall be divided into two brackets with five teams each with the top two teams in each bracket advancing to the crossover semifinals.
