Sports: Bacolod Rules Panaad Fest Taekwondo Tourney

Bacolod City collected 18 gold, 9 silver, 6 bronze medals to rule the 19th Panaad sa Negros Festivals taekwondo tournaments held at the 2nd Level, North wing of Panaad Stadium last April 11 and 12, 2012.

Victorias City romped off with eight titles; Manapla and Murcia with four titles each; Bago City with three; Sagay City and Ilog with two titles each, and La Castellana, La Carlota and Hinigaran produce one each.

The winners for Bacolod are; Elementary Girls’ Novice: Arienne Espida in 120-128 centimeters); Faith Duca in 128-136 centimeters; and Shaira Garbanzos in 144-152 centimeters. In Elementary girls’ advance are Camille Miraflores in 128-136 centimeters and Julianne Bermejo in 152-160 centimeters. In secondary girls’ Novice: Mariel Dayot in 42-44 kilograms; Angela Puntal in 44-46 kilograms; Haynie Erojo in 46-49 kilograms; and Alysa Amihan in the welterweight category. In the secondary girls’ advance are: Stephanie Lamayo in the 42 kilograms and below; Irene Bermejo in the 42-44 kilograms; and Marie Therese Pacheco in 46-49 kilograms. In secondary boys’ novice are: Joefer Cabrera in the pinweight division; Aldwin Diosanta in Lightweight category and Edwin Costas in the welterweight category. In secondary boys’ advance are: Jimbrey Chua in the fin weight category; Jason Locsin in the flyweight; and Dave Dolloso in the bantamweight.

Victorias City winners are: In the elementary girls’ advance; Shemaiah Anzano in 144-152 centimeters; John Rey Castigador in the elementary boys’ novice 128-136 centimeters and Arturo Garren in elementary boys’ novice 136-144 centimeters; Jan Michael Casaña in elementary boys’ advance 152-160 centimeters; Madelyn Jamandre in secondary girls’ novice 49-52 kilograms; and Regie Rosende in secondary boys’ novice bantamweight category.

Murcia has Hannah Flores in elementary girls’ novice 136-144 centimeters; Kathleen Dinsay in elementary girls’ advance 136-144 centimeters; Joshua Rosalia in elementary boys’ advance 144-152 centimeters; and Deb Daclan in secondary boys’ advance featherweight category.

Manapla banked on Bryant Miraflores in elementary boys’ novice 144-152 centimeters; Clouie Balinas in secondary girls’ advance 52-55 kilograms (welterweight); Edmar Fernando in secondary boys’ novice featherweight; and Albert Bawa-an in secondary boys’ advance lightweight category.

Bago City has three winners with Yssa Angelie Tambanillo in elementary girls’ advance 120-128 centimeters; Symon Jimenez in elementary boys’ advance 120-128 centimeters; and Dan Michael Jorge in secondary boys’ advance welterweight category.

Sagay had two with Jeralin Griño in elementary girls’ novice 152-160 centimeters and Mark Niño Java in elementary boys’ novice 152-160 centimeters. Ilog has Piolo Dumagat in elementary boys’ advance 128-136 centimeters and Jeandy Mercado in secondary girls’ novice 49 kilograms and below.

La Castellana Sian Duca ruled the elementary boys’ novice 120-128 centimeters; La Carlota City’s Rusgeel Jumaway in secondary boys’ novice flyweight category; and Hinigaran Kaizer Mohamitano ruled the elementary boys’ advance 136-144 centimeters.*
