Business: Makati-Bacolod Sisterhood Pact Looms
Makati City and Bacolod City will soon become sister cities as the members of Bacolod City council have approved the resolution authored byCoun.Jose Carlos
Lopez during the midweek session.The said resolution was requesting Mayor Evelio Leonardia, to initiate talks with Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay Jr. for possible sister cityhood relationship between Bacolod and Makati.
The importance of having bilateral relations with other local governments, will foster a spirit of brotherhood and cooperation, exchange of ideas, technology and education will be mutually beneficial to the two parties.
Lopez’ resolution also states that it is of vital interest to any growing city to expand its connections to bring progress and advancement in the field of business, investment, tourism, health and education which will redound to the benefit of Bacolod City.*(EBC)
