On May 1, Labor Day, SM Supermalls all over the country will be the venue for the annual Job Fair conducted in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). The event is a big crowd drawer of jobseekers hoping to be matched with employers. Past records show that the Job Fair has attracted more than 75,000 people applying for job vacancies offered by at least 1,200 participating companies nationwide.

This year, the job fair will carry the theme "We Create Jobs," where SM, DOLE and the Public Employment Services Office (PESO) aims to lessen the inconveniences of jobseekers and open opportunities for gainful employment to Filipino workers. DOLE and PESO highly encourages that companies seeking to fill certain positions can evaluate applicants during the job fair and if possible, hire on the spot. With that, qualified jobseekers may be lucky enough to emerge from the job fair with ready employment.

Various positions will be open to all jobseekers, detailing requirements and skills needed per vacancy. Participating companies will be from all business sectors: trading and service companies, manufacturing industries, food service chains and outlets, IT-BPO companies or call centers, and even SM affiliate companies. This event will also be a good place to start for fresh graduates, where there will be available postings that may fit their skill levels as well.

In Bacolod City, Job Fair 2012: We Create Jobs will be held at the Event Centre of SM City Bacolod on May 1, 2012, from 10AM till 5PM. Jobseekers will be required to fill up forms required by DOLE before entering the job fair premises. For convenience, the DOLE will set up an Early Registration Help Desk at SM City Bacolod, North Wing Lobby. Jobseekers are highly encouraged to pre-register to save time during the actual job fair. The DOLE Help Desk will be open from April 24-27, 2012 at regular business hours.*
