Sports: Jast Enterprise, Organic Solutions Register Win in Fil-Sino

Jast Enterprises thumped an undermanned JSY Transport, 84-71, while Organic Solutions clawed back from a double digit deficit to upstage Basecom, 72-68, in Class B of the 2012 Fil-Sino All Asian Countertrade Inc. 1st Conference Inter-color Basketball tournament at the Po Hang Gym of Bacolod Tay Tung High School.

JSY Transport played with only six players kept up with Jast in the first quarter at 22-all behind Jeremy Coo 7 points output against Jast Christopher Mahinay 10.

The twin towers of Brian Javelosa and Ralph Ong in the second quarter that combined for 15 points proved to be unstoppable as Jast established a 47-33 lead at the break.

Jeremy Coo and Tubby Villanueva also combined for 11 points, but Jast countered with Jan Jan Young and Eduardo Ng 7 and 6 ppoints, respectively to extend the advantage to 22-point before settling for a 66-50 lead going to the fourth quarter.

JSY finally outscored Jast in a quarter but Mahinay 14 points and the offensive rebound opportunities by its frontline sealed Jast opening game win.

Mahinay finished with 26, backed up by Brian Javelosa with 12, Young shot 11, Ong with 9, Kieron Tan 8 and Ng 6.

Coo paced JSY with 23 points, Siopao Dichavez added,Tubby Villanueva 11, Stephen Tan 10, Andre Tan had 8 and Celhelm Uy with 5.

In the second game Basecom registered a 44 -32 halftime lead led by Luigi Coo 10 points and Dr. Chico Coruña 9, while Chingsan Su and Simon Tan kept Organic in the game with 10 points each.

Surprise package Errol Su sunk four three triples in the third quarter and Tan added 6 to give Organic a 55-51 lead going to the fourth quarter.

Basecom canned four three triples with RJ Iligan tallying 8 points but Organic responded with Errol Su joining hands with Brian Ong in the payoff quarter with 6 pointseach to hold on for the victory.

Errol Su led Organic with 18 points, Simon Tan scored16, Ong had 13, Chingsan Su made 10 and Alex Chua delivered 7.

Iligan paced Basecom with 18 points in a losing effort, Coo added 16, Coruña had 11and Edward Uy with 8.*
