Local News: DepEd-Bacolod City All Set for Elections
The Department of Education (DepEd)-Division of Bacolod City is all geared up for the conduct of the 2013 Midterm Elections on May 13.
In an official statement, Schools Division Superintendent Ma. Gemma Ledesma assured that the teaching and non-teaching personnel as well as the schools are ready to accommodate voters on Monday.
The statement disclosed that 946 teaching and non-teaching personnel and 49 school heads will be serving as Board of Election Inspectors (BEIs), support staff, Supervising personnel during the election.
All were selected based on the qualifications set by the Commission on Election and all have undergone training on the Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) machines conducted March 6-26, 2013 by the COMELEC.
"As to physical plans, all schools that are identified to be polling precincts have been advised to prepare the schools and ensure that these are clean and security is maintained," Ledesma said in the statement.
A Division Task Force was also created to monitor election related occurrences and submit hourly reports to the DepEd Regional Task Force.
The task force composed of Division Office personnel, Education Program Supervisors, and is chaired by Ledesma.* (JCM/EAD-PIA6 Negros Occidental)
