Opinion: Bringing My Music to Naga City
It’s almost a year have passed when I was invited by my Chinese friend Mr. Manuel Li, proprietor of a famous hardware here in Bacolod City to entertain forthe third time a family reunion. Li Family Association of the Philippines is held every year in different locations in the country. Family members from all over the Philippines gather for this yearly bonding.

Last year’s gathering was held in our famous Hotel, the L’Fisher. While entertaining guests with my selection of a few Chinese traditional music some of the guests approached me to buy my CDs.
One of the family members Judge Jose Dy got a few of my CDs which he requested to be delivered to his hotel room after the affair.
A few months later I received a text message from the good Judge telling me that his wife and family like my music and plans to invite me after he retires from the service. After exchanging text message I did not hear from Judge Dy until last month when he texted me that he is sending some financial help for my medical needs as a cancer survivor.
To return this generous gesture from a far away friend, I offered to entertain his friends in Naga City provided somebody will shoulder our expenses.
Without much ado, he asked for the date so he can have time to prepare. And the day is today, May 23, 2012. We will be performing for some 100 guests at the Villa CASERES HOTEL on May 24 and maybe to entertain also on the 25 for the cancer survivors and senior citizens of Naga City before flying back to Manila on May 26 for my regular medical check-up. I will be accompanied by my wife Cosette and grandson Jeric. I hope and pray that my music of yesteryears will bring back happy memories to our new friends in Naga City.*
