OURFood is an acronym for Optimization & Upscaling of Roles in the Supply Chain of Food. It aims to make an effective use of resources in the business areas and to raise capabilities to a higher level in order to hold micro, small and medium entrepreneurs along the supply chain of food.
Dr. Stephun Khunz said they have already identified potential farmers in Negros Occidental and in Negros Oriental to incorporate in a system with the end goal of providing them a better livelihood.
Gov. Marañon said that the initiative of OURFood Negros is in connection with the provincial government’s program on agriculture and food security.
Moreover, the project seeks to attain improved product quality and compliance with product and production standards in order to contribute to enhanced competitiveness and sustainable entrepreneurship of MSMEs engaged in food production and processing. The 3-year program is funded by the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development and administered by the German Organization for Qualification and Training.* (Capitol News)
