Events: Pulupandan High School wins 4th Bago Fancy Drill tilt

Enriquetta Montilla de Esteban Memorial High School (EMEMHS) in Pulupandan emerged as the champion in the recently concluded 4th Bago City Invitational Fancy Drill Competition last November 5 as one activities of the Al Cinco de Noviembre in the city.

EMEMHS bested other schools in the street and arena performance and got the nod of the board of judges namely LTC Lloyd Cabacungan, LTC Jose Demar Pauly, Maj. Allan Margarata, Maj. Sonny Gonzales and MSg. Efinito Bernardino, all from Philippine Military Academy-Baguio City. The school received P20,000 cash and a trophy.

Negros Occidental High School settled for second place and takes home best in uniform, most disciplined and best platoon leader awards. NOHS received P15,000, trophy and additional P3,000 for each of the special award. Third place with a cash prize of P10,000 and a trophy went to Victorias National High School of Victorias City. Meanwhile, Lopez Jaena National High School of Murcia was awarded as the best marching unit with a cash prize of P3,000.

Other schools which joined the fancy drill competition are Ramon Torres National High School of Bago City, Domingo Lacson National High School, Bacolod City National High School, Luisa Medel National High School, Don Simplicio Lizarez National High School of Talisay City and West Negros University, all received P5,000and a plaque of appreciation.

Now on its fourth year, the Bago City invitational fancy drill competition continues to draw crowd and participants every year. Bago Mayor Ramon Torres meanwhile expressed his gratitude to the judges from the Philippine Military Academy and the principals, coordinators and schools who participated in this year’s competition.*(Ace Balboa)
