Sagay river cruise begins, hosted by Baronessa Eva
see gallery

For the moment, there’s this river cruise that’s a must-do in Sagay City. It all started with la Baronessa Eva who took us first on this bucolic Amorsolo-esque (from the Philippine’s National Artist Fernando Amorsolo paintings depicting local island life) excursion. This time, she had Georgie Diaz, Toni Gregory with fiancée Lino Valenzuela, Singapore Airline’s top lady executive Rita Dy, Cocoon’s Frances Lim and Princess Monjerra Alonto (a Muslim Princess who married a Disini). With a fleet of bancas, we would meander down from the US steel bridge of Sagay and look at birds, people bathing in the river—yes, the Sagay Lopez Central has contributed highly to the environmental well-being of this main Negros Island tributary. But, we dreamt of gliding down the waters with tables and music and cooling breeze that comes from pristine rarified air. Well, with the tourism office of Sagay City and this Tourism Ambassador giving his seal of approval, I do declare that everyone should try this relaxing and mood altering experience. Travel down time and space; hear the rustle of the bubbling waters and the soft whines and creaks of the bamboo plantations. Feast on fresh fish and organic greens while you take this cruise, hearing the love songs that endear one to the Latino Asian soul of the “Heart of the Philippines”.

An introduction to the history of Insular Lumber in Fabrica, Sagay City onboard

Hello to my readers of Negros Daily Bulletin. Having been appointed as Tourism Ambassador by RANI (Resort Association of Negros Island), I have chosen to broaden my horizons and will try my best to promote our beautiful destinations in Negros. But don’t worry, dahlinks, I shall also keep you in touch with what’s in, what’s out and what’s it all about in our city of Bacolod. Plus, you will travel with me as I go around the world in this quest of touching bases with global personalities for the campaign of Philippine tourism. MY PRAYER
Come, let us praise the Lord; in Him is all our delight.
