NPC Meeting Set
Members and officials of the Nationalist Peop-le’s Coalition (NPC) are set to
meet in Manila come April 28, 2009.
Sixth District Congressman |Genaro “Lim-ao” Alvarez said he has been invited to
attend the meeting and that he also expects that other party members in the
province are also invited.
However, Alvarez said he has no idea yet as to what would be discussed during
the meeting. He is not also certain if local line-ups of the party in this
province will also be taken up.
The party meeting came after some other major political parties in the country
already made public their senatorial line-up for the coming 2010 Local and
National Elections.
Former President Joseph Estrada earlier bared his senatoriables composed of
Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile, incumbent Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago,
and Grace Poe-Llamansares, daughter of the late movie actor Fernando Poe Jr.
Others in the list are:
* Senate Pro-Tempore Jose “Jinggoy” Estrada;
*Lawyer Adel Tamano, spokesman of the United Opposition (UNO); * Parañaque Rep.
Roilo Golez;
* Gina De Venecia, wife of former House speaker and Pangasinan Rep. Jose De
Venecia Jr.;
* Former senator Agapito “Butz” Aquino;
* Former senator Sergio Osmeña III;
* Bayan Muna Party-list Rep. Teddy Casiño;
* ABS-CBN Broadcaster Ted Failon; and
* Former military Gen. Danny Lim
The Lakas and Kampi party on the other hand, have announced their merger.
The Liberal Party of Senator Mar Roxas have initially bared its senatorial
line-up early this year.*
