Butcher Shot Dead in Sipalay
A butcher was shot dead while urinating outside his house in Purok Humayan, Barangay Cartagena, Sipalay City around 4:00 a.m. Saturday.
Chief Inspector Romeo Vargas, Sipalay City PNP chief identified the victim as Elvin Tolentino, 33, married, “Alias Bukay”. He sustained nine gunshot wounds on the different parts of his body; the fatal one on his head.
Vargas said the victim was about to go to the market as his daily routine in their business when two unidentified suspects peppered him with gunshots. His wife is reportedly abroad and they have two young children.
Police could not ascertain the real motive of the killing. Vargas said the victim was the first to surrender when “Oplan Tokhang” was implemented in July.
He, however, doubted that it has something to do with a person he boxed and hit his head on the pavement several months ago.
Police authorities recovered three empty shells and four live bullets of .9mm from the crime scene.
Police authorities are still investigating the incident.*(CMG)
