PInsp. Richard Pajarito, deputy chief of police told NDB that Percival Gabitanan, a carpenter is arrested for attacking his 70-year old mother, Elidena while sleeping inside their house using a bolo.
Pajarito said the suspect admitted to have been using drugs but could not believe killing his mother.
Initial investigations indicated that the suspect hit his mother with a bamboo and when she went unconscious he grabbed her arms and legs from behind, took her outside of their house and hack her head off.
The victim initially tried to ask for help prompting their neighbors to seek assistance from the nearby tanod outpost and reported the incident to police authorities.
Pajarito said when they held an ocular investigation they recovered the victim’s head inside the house, while the rest of the body was left at their backyard.
