CENECO Bill: Another Residential Rate Increase For May

General Manager Sulpicio Lagarde, Jr. has sent notices to the consumers that for May 2014 billing, there will be an increase of P10.1442 per kilowatt hour, or a P0.2218 per kilowatt hour increase over the last month’s increase of P9.9224 per kilowatt hour only.

He said, the generation charges, which is the biggest contributory factor to the rate hike is due to higher capacity and monthly contracted energy with the Power Sector Asset and Liabilities Management (PSALM).

Ka Roger Rosal’s Newly Born Granddaughter Dies

The newly born infant of suspected communist leader Andrea Rosal died due to hypoxemia or oxygen deficiency in the blood, human rights group Karapatan said yesterday.

Diona Andre Rosal, the granddaughter of the late Communist Party Philippines-New People’s Army’s (CPP/NPA) Roger Rosal, was born at 8 a.m,. May 17, 2014, at the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) and passed away at 5 p.m. the following day.

Karapatan secretary general Cristina Palabay blamed the death of the infant to Andrea’s stressful detention at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City. The infant’s mother was arrested on March 27 in Caloocan City while she was seven months pregnant.
