Escalante tops Prov’l SP with most number of ordinances, resolutions

Senior Member Salvador Escalante (2nd district) topped the recent list of the Sanggunian Panlalawigan of Negros Occidental in terms of the most number of ordinances and resolutions passed in 2017.

Based on the record provided by Atty. Maki-Angel Ascalon, Escalante, chair of the Committee on Finance, Ways passed 485 resolutions an d 19 ordinances and under Human Resource with 64 resolutions.

2 Killed, 4 hurt in collision

Two persons were killed and four others injured after a tricycle collided with a truck loaded with fishes in the national highway of Barangay Camingawan, Kabankalan City around 7 a.m. yesterday.

Police Superintendent Rhea Santos, Kabankalan PNP chief identified the victims as Cecelia PiancoVillaruel, 35, and 4 years old Blessed Lines Santillana, all of Barangay Taloc, Bago City. They sustained head and body injuries when their tricycle collided with the truck.

Sagay Secures Men’s Open Title vs La Salle, 2-0

Jimuel Ariola and Clifford Tecson connected crucial goals in the second half to lift host-Sagay North Negros in a 2-0 victory over erstwhile champions Ceres-University of St. La Salle to capture the crown in the 2nd Sagay Men’s Open Championship played at Sagay National High School.

After both teams settled for a scoreless first half, tournament’s “most valuable player” and “best triker” awardee Ariola scored on a rebound play in the 48th minute beating USLS’ keeper John Mark Jamelo deep of the right post.
