Oil Tanker Aground in Sipalay City
An oil tanker suffered engine trouble and went aground in Campomanes Bay in Sipalay City, Wednesday.
The oil tanker was anchored at .06 nautical miles from Campomanes Bay and waited for a tug boat from Cebu City to be towed to General Santos City.
Boat Captain Ryan Tanda was able to inform Philippine Coast Guard Lieutenant Commander Ramil Palabrica of their position.
The engine trouble was due to heavy waves while on its way to General Santos City after delivering cargo to Bataan.
The tanker has 21 crew members.
Meanwhile, roll-on, roll-off vessels were advised to refrain from sailing even without storm signal due to big waves yesterday.
The Philippine Coast Guard-Bacolod also advised Coast Guard station in all ports in the province to refrain from sailing especially the small fishing boats.*
