Fires Raze Brgy. Hall in Bago, House in Cadiz
Two fires occurred early this week in Negros Occidental, one ate up a barangay hall in Bago City and another one razed two houses in Cadiz City Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively.
Fire the Barangay Hall of Barangay Tabunan in Bago City and residential house in Cadiz City Wednesday and Tuesday respectively.
In Bago, Barangay Tabunan Captain Maria May Claridad Suarez said that she was only informed by her barangay tanods and utility worker that a fire razed their barangay hall at around 6:30 in the morning.
The origin of the fire is yet to be determined, but police investigators said, the door knob at the back of the barangay hall was destroyed.
No valuables were reported stolen. However, arson investigator estimated the damage to P200,000.
Residents helped put out the fire.
In Cadiz, arson investigator said that the houses of Franklin and Eduardo Cabaluna were razed by fire at about 1:30 in the afternoon, in Hacienda Caridad 3 in Barangay Luna.
Fire Officer 1 Harold Dajay said that the damage was placed at P500,000.
He said the fire originated from an unattended cell phone being charged.* (Cyrus M. Garde)
