7 Arrested in Buy-bust in Talisay City
A pair of buy-bust operations in Talisay City by joint elements of the Provincial Anti-illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (PAIDSOTG) of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) and the local police netted the city’s No. 7 in the Top 10 Drugs Watchlist including three female minors last Sunday.

Nabbed during an entrapment operation conducted by a team led by Police Chief Inspector Rico Santotome Jr. and Police Chief Inspector Arnold Mesias Jr. was Anthony Glaraga, 31, a resident of Brgy Zone 6, Talisay City.
He was apprehended after he handed a medium-sized sachet of shabu worth P200 to a police poseur-buyer while his 14-year old live-in partner was likewise taken into custody after several illegal drugs paraphernalia like tooter, empty plastic sachets and plastic straw scoop were recovered from her possession and control during the entrapment operation.
Glaraga is listed in the Top 10 Drugs Watchlist of Talisay City PNP at No. 7, according to Santotome.
Later in the afternoon, Paul Vincent Labayen y Malunes alias Chaw/Jeric King, 29, single, resident of Brgy. Zone 12, Talisay City, and his runner Steve Elecciones y Jernalin, 27, single, of Brgy. Zone 2, Talisay City, were likewise arrested after the duo sold a small brick of dried marijuana leaves worth P100 to a police poseur-buyer at a vulcanizing shop in Brgy. Zone 12, Talisay City.
In the course of the operation and arrest, three more suspects were apprehended in two of the rooms inside the vulcanizing shop which were used to sniff shabu and to smoke marijuana, added Santotome.
They were arrested while in the act of possessing illegal drugs and illegal drugs paraphernalia namely a 17-year old minor from Brgy. Concepcion, Talisay City, Mark Edward Gamboa y Diaz, 28, single, of Brgy Zone 12, Talisay City and his 17-year old live-in partner who was also from Brgy. Zone 12, Talisay City.
Recovered were another plastic sachet containing dried marijuana leaves as well as several illegal drugs paraphernalia.
In Manapla town, the municipality’s No. 2 in the Top 10 Drugs watchlist identified as KJ Magalona and his brother Aron of Brgy. 2, Manapla both eluded arrest during a buy-bust operation in front of a convenience store early Monday morning after the pair handed two small sachets of shabu to a police poseur-buyer, said Santotome.
Cases for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the said suspects, however, this week.
