UNO-R Celebrates 2 Feasts
The University of Negros Occidental–Recoletos (UNO-R) and the Oratory of St. Nicholas of Tolentino is celebrating two fiestas - the feastday of St. Ezekiel Moreno, the patron saint of cancer patients on August 19 and St. Augustine on August 28.
“A Walk for Healing” from the Capitol Lagoon Park to UNO-R at 6 am will start the celebrations for the feast of St. Ezekiel Moreno. This will be followed by the Concelebrated Healing Mass with Rev. Fr. Raymond Asoy at the UNO-R Gym after the walk. Likewise, Recoletos communities of St. Nicholas de Tolentino Parish in Talisay; St. Thomas de Villanova in San Carlos City; Recoletos Social Outreach Center (RESOURCE) in Handumanan and St. Ezekiel Moreno Monastery in Tangub.
UNO-R will also be celebrating the feast of St. Augustine on August 28. Triduum Masses in honor of St. Augustine will start on August 25.
This year’s celebration is led by Rev. Fr. Abraham Latoza, OAR, UNO-R Vice President for Religious Affairs and Rev. Fr. Alberto Avanzado, OAR, university chaplain.*
