Two unidentified suspects shot dead a fish vendor at the flea market in Barangay Zone 6, Cadiz City around 3:00 A.M yesterday, December 28.

Superintendent Edel Jose Manzano, Cadiz City PNP chief indentified the victim Nelson Reboton Si-at, 52, married, resident of Sitio Canipa-an, Barangay Banquerohan also of the city.

He sustained a gunshot wound in the nape while having coffee in one of the shops in Barangay Zone 6 near the flea market.

The former Barangay Official of Talacdan, Cauayan town in Negros Occidental stabbed dead two drunkards who tried to stab the son of Barangay Chieftain Jolly David Monday evening, Dec. 26.

Police Chief Inspector Ruben Pajarito, Cauayan PNP OIC chief identified the victims as Ronel Claro, 32, and Lino Puro, 26 – all of Purok 2, Barangay Talacdan, Cauayan.

Both sustained stab wound on their stomach and died on the spot.

Two persons were arrested when City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (CAIDSOTG) conducted a buy bust operation in Sitio Sibucao, Barangay Banago around 2:40 p.m. Tuesday.

Inspector Ramil Bustamante, CAIDSOTG head coordinated with Senior Inspector Larry Teovisio of Police Station 3 in conducting the operation and arrested Roberto Acevedo Perales, 50, “Alias Daku”, reportedly an employee of Vallacar Transit Inc., operator of Ceres Bus; and Johnny Vista, 41, also of the place and a trisikad driver.

The No. 4 most wanted person in Kabankalan City was nabbed by Regional Intelligence Unit of Region-18 NIR when he was spotted in Barangay Alijis, Bacolod City.

The suspect was identified as Rocky Alunan Flores of Barangay Oringao, Kabankalan, who is facing homicide charges in court.

SPO1 Joshua Barile led the arresting team.

Bacolod City will celebrate New Year’s Eve with a party that will be capped by a grand fireworks display at the Bacolod City Government Center grounds from 6 p.m. to 12 midnight of Saturday, Dec. 31.


BRIDGING THE KIDS. Mayor Evelio Leonardia, Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran, Councilor Em Ang, who facilitated the project, Councilor Bart Orola, and Barangay Handumanan officials cut the ribbon at the inauguration of the newly built 72-foot steel footbridge at Zone 6 in Barangay Handumanan yesterday. The P900,000 steel bridge connects Zone 6 of Brgy. Handumanan and Purok Villa Maria of Barangay Mansilingan, which is a big help to schoolchildren of the said areas in going to Handumanan Elementary School and Handumanan National High School, as they no longer have to get wet in crossing the river. “A small project as it may be, this bridge immensely improves the situation of the children in Mansilingan and Handumanan, making their morning walk to school safer and easier,” Ang, who authored two resolutions for the construction of the footbridge, said.*(City PIO photos)

The 6th Founding Anniversary of the College of Arts & Sciences of Asia and the Pacific (CASAP)-Bacolod Campus with the theme “Strengthening and Fostering the Pillars of CASAP” was celebrated on December 19-20, 2016 at the District Ayala North Point, Talisay City.

The festivities were attended by the about 1,500 college, senior high, and integrated school students, the 42 full time college and senior high school instructors, staff, and school officials.
