To be a "professional" connotes competence and expertise. To do any job "professionally" is to do it well. An advance degree or a diploma is a ticket to success in more ways than one, it is an admission to the realm of opportunity which open before the graduate like a gambling casino. Many professionals serve their clients with dedication and competence. But professionalism has a dark side-in a word, power. Professionals can become self-appointed experts, dominating rather than serving labor.

The 60-day Temporary Restraining Order granted by the court of appeals to Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia shows judicial justice on his part, according to Bacolod City Legal officer Atty Joselito Bayatan.
The TRO was filed by Leonardia after the Ombudsman has ordered the dismissal from service and perpetual disqualification from any political election, for grave misconduct and gross neglect of duty involving the alleged illegal procurement of furniture and fixtures at the Bacolod government center, amounting to about P50 million.
The Task Force Crusaders (TFC) has asked Health Sec. Paulyn Jean Ubial to conduct an immediate investigation into the latest death at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) in Bacolod City allegedly due to the neglect by some of the hospital staff.

A minor boy drowned while his three other siblings survived when they crossed the river in the overflow of Barangay Plaridel and Barangay Andres Bonifacio in Sagay City, in Negros Occidental around 5:00 in the morning Sunday.
The boy was later found about 1:38 in the afternoon of same day, according to Kagawad Rollie Jaena of Barangay Andres Bonifacio, Sagay City.
The victim was identified as Leo Largo, 13, grade six pupil of Andres Bonifacio Elementary School.

A surprised greyhound operation in Bacolod Metro District Jail inside Bacolod City Police Office in barangay Taculing here resulted to recovery of contrabands inside the jail around 4:00 in the morning Saturday.
Jail Superintendent Amelito Fuentes, of Negros Island Region (NIR) of Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) said the surprised conduct of greyhound was to eradicate illegal activities inside the jail.
