La Carlota City celebrated its 141st Annual Parochial Fiesta last January 21-24, 2017 with the traditional events joined by the local government through the playground demonstrations presented by La Carlota South Elem. School – I, La Carlota North Elem. School, and La Carlota South Elem School –II. The three central schools separately held the coronation program for the Ginoo at Mutya ng Lungsod ng La Carlota. A drum and lyre competition, amateur boxing, and larong panlahi also highlighted the festivities.

Self-confessed drug personality Ricky Serenio said he fears for his impending transfer to the Philippine National Police (PNP) Detention Facility in Camp Crame, Manila.

Serenio, before his arraignment at the Bacolod City Regional Trial Court Branch 54 Thursday morning, questioned Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) director, Police Senior Superintendent William Señoron, why he really wants him moved to the PNP national headquarters.

Bacolod City is the only city in the Philippines that made Henry Sy an adopted son of the city, and appointed him as honorary mayor.

The father of the patient who died with her unborn twin at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) in Bacolod City said he is receiving threats from unknown persons.

The continuing rift between alumni and parents of St. John’s Institute and the parish of the Queen of Peace Church over who should have control over the parish has raised security concerns, Cesar Villanueva, president of the Board of Trustees of St.John Institute said.

Villanueva said that right now “the security is the problem in the school.”

Class ’99, ’90, and 2000up secured the “twice-to-beat advantage” in the elimination round as the 2016-17 NOHS @ 115 - NOHSAAI “Unity Cup” Bowling Fellowship Season stepladder finals starts off at Negros Super Lanes.

C’99 led by manager Joemar Baylon with Richard Secuelan at the helm held on to grab the top spot hitting a total of 7,201 pin falls in the bracketing finals.

They scored a three-game output of 458-454-475.

Teams looking to challenge C’99 in the championship round include: C’96 - 7,177; C’85 - 7,103; C’66 - 7,059; and C’94 - 7,052.

Isabela Mayor Enrique Montilla III said that the local government has started to implement a “no segregation, so collection policy” in the town in line with Republic Act 9003 or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000.

This is the finding of the Talisay City PNP in the killing of a man from Sitio Sibucao in Barangay Banago, Bacolod amd who was found dead in Hacienda San Antonio 1 in Barangay Dos Hermanas in Talisay City Friday.

Superintendent Adonis Rosales, Talisay City PNP chief identified the victim as Eduardo Ausa Serquiller, 34 years old, married and resident of Sitio Sibucao in Barangay Banago.
