Health Secretary Paulyn Jean Roselle- Ubial has promised that there will be no “white wash” in the ongoing investigation on the death of a 21-year old mother and her unborn twins at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital here last month.

“We are following due process especially in collating evidences. There will be a status quo on the status of the attending physicians named in the complaint,” Ubial said adding that “this is not an isolated case as they are also investigating a death at a regional hospital in Ilocos Norte.”

The consultant of Energreen-Central Negros Power Reliability, Inc. (Cenpri) has assured consumers that it will be 100 percrent fully operational by March 2017.

David Tan, Energreen-CENPRI consultant made the assurance in a press conference over the weekend saying that they can comply with their 18.9 megawatt in reserve and peak load to Central Negros Electric Cooperative (CENECO) next month.

Our 25.2 mw bunker fuel power plant located in Barangay Calumangan will be fully operational by the time, he said.

A swindler who tried to victimize a businesswoman in EB Magalona town was arrested as the victim suspected something wrong when he asked P1, 000 for his fare while transacting millions of pesos worth of business with her past 11:00 a.m. Saturday.

Unnoticed by the suspect whose identity was not yet divulged by Senior Inspector Bonifacio Aral, EB Magalona PNP chief while investigation of the case is still going on, the said suspect is from Barangay Mambulac in Silay City, Negros Occidental.

A boyfriend was ganged up by five suspects, smashed with iron pipe in the head and stabbed dead at Reclamation Area in Bacolod City around 1:30 a.m. Saturday.

Police Chief Inspector Benedicto Villarias, Police Station 2 chief identified the victim as Joemarie Garcia, 42 years old, single of Jalandon in barangay 2, Bacolod City.

He sustained three stab wounds in the body and smashed, then declared dead on-arrival at Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital.

Victims of alleged extortion from persons claiming to be police officers should report them, Senior Inspector Jack Wanky, chief of the Bacolod City Police Office said.

Wanky admitted to received reports of several information of individuals claiming to be police officers, extorting money from local businesses in the city.

“They should come out and file a complaint,” he said.

Wanky said it is possible that some of the involved individuals are indeed cops, but have been declared AWOL (Absent Without Leave).

A church in Purok Katumbal at Barangay 5, Bacolod City was robbed around 11:49 a.m. Friday by a suspect who was arrested after a chase by bystanders and was cornered at 23rd Lacson Street and arrested by security guard of an establishment in the area.

Police Chief Inspector Benedicto Villarias, Police Station 2 chief identified the suspect as Aris Puerto of legal age and resident of Homesite Subdivision in Barangay Villamonte in this city.

He was caught by Julie Ann Yanguas who entered the 13-16 Wesley Church and the suspect immediately escaped.

DILG Negros Occidental spearheaded the provincial launch of Mamamayang Ayaw sa Anomalya, Mamam-ayang Ayaw sa Droga (MASA MASID) on February 1-2, 2017 in the cities of Kabankalan and Sagay, respectively with the Assistant Secretary for Barangay Affairs and Community Development, Rooseque B. Calacat as guests of honor.

The activity was attended by mayors, chiefs of police, DILG officers, expanded UBAS members and barangay MASA-MASID team members.
