More than 150 High School Students of the East Negros Academy of the Municipality of Toboso have satisfactorily completed the 4-day Women Advocate for Self-Defense and Protection of the University of St. La Salle, Mass Communication Department which started December 9, 2016 to February 17, 2017 held at the East Negros Academy Social Hall recently.

Central Negros Electric Cooperative, Inc. (CENECO) informs its consumers that the residential rate for February 2017 billing is P9.5038/kwh; a P0.4759/kWh increase from last month’s P9.0279/kWh.

The upward adjustment in CENECO’s effective rate can be attributed to the increase in the Generation Charge of P0.4167 and system loss charge of P0.0814.

Fifty five teams are competing in four age-group categories that will play starting February 25 and end on March 25, 2017 in designated venue, organizer disclosed.

The categories are 16 Boy’s & Girl’s, 14-Under Boy’s & Girl’s category, 12-Under Boy’s & Girl’s categories, and 10-Under Girl’s Category.

In Under-10 under girls category, seven teams will compete among its other. They are University of St. La Salle-Integrated School (USLS-IS), Trinity Christian School (TCS), St. John’s Institute-A & B, Calvary School (Pontevedra), and La Carlota City.

Kami Mga Hubin (KMH) bowlers continues to hold the #1 spot after day 3 in the Men’s division of the ongoing 2017 KMH Inter-Squad Trios Duckpin Bowling League Season 2 elimination round at Negros Super Lanes.

Despite the slow start in game 1, KMH led by Peter Deocadiz bounced back in their next two games to gather a triple score of 905 pin falls. The defending champion had a three-game score of 276-306-323.

Members of the squad are team manager Robbie Elegado, Joval Damasco, Sharon Sioson, Dr Rockie Elegado, and Tristan Teruel.

All systems go as thousands of student-athletes, coaches, technical officials, delegation heads, government officials and local spectators are expected to flock at the Gov. Mariano Pedices Memorial Stadium in Dumaguete City at 4PM for the opening rites of the weeklong Palarong NIR 2017.

The rites will commence with a parade that will kick off at 3PM from Quezon Park & Rizal Boulevard en route Dumaguete City streets to the stadium.

Police manning the Community Police Assistance Center (COMPAC) in Barangay San Jose, Sipalay City arrested a Barangay Tanod of said barangay for possessing two unlicensed firearms about 12:50 a.m. yesterday, February 23.

Police chief Inspector Romeo Vargas, Sipalay City OIC chief identified the suspects as Barangay Tanod Rowelito Abadinas Villarmia, 44, married, of Barangay San Jose.

Police officer Ricky Lademora, COMPAC PNCO arrested the suspect and called for assistance from his colleagues.

Four wanted persons, including two women were arrested by Binalbagan PNP in Sitio Tap-ok, Barangay Enclaro in the town around 9:35 a.m. Wednesday.

Police Chief Inspector Anthony Grande, Binalbagan PNP chief identified the four as Salvador Libertino Sentoce, 42, single; Melvin Libertino Estoquia, 27, single; Magdalena Rendon Sentoce, 46, single; and Virgie De la Cruz Pailanan, 67, widow, all residents of the place.

Rotary/Rexidol defeated Heineken last night 73-52 to improve to 3-4 and advance to the quarterfinals.

Three (3) major requirements must be complied with before Small Town Lottery (STL) could operate in the City of Bacolod:

1. A franchise to operate either granted by PCSO or Congress. Congress has been protesting the operation of STL granted by PCSO questioning its authority or power to grant franchise.

The charter of PCSO was created by Congress to operate lottery operation and not to grant franchises to private operators.
