Police Station 7 in Barangay Mansilingan said that they are already following a lead of two suspects who victimized a 26-year-old married call center agent about 3:00 a.m. Wednesday in a secluded place in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City.

Police Station 7 head Chief Inspector Charles Gever refused to identify the victim who is a native of Toboso town. Her husband is a native of La Castellana and helper of a cargo truck in Purok Kabukiran 2, Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City. The couple have two children back in Toboso town.

The Philippine Army has installed Colonel Elizer Losañes as the new commanding officer of the 303rd Infantry Brigade at Camp Major Nelson Gerona in Barangay Minoyan, Murcia town, Wednesday.

Losañes took over from Brigadier General Francisco Delfin, who has assumed command as Assistant Infantry Division Commander of the 3rd Infantry Division in Jamindan, Capiz province.

The turn-over ceremony was attended by Major General Jon Aying, commander of the 3rd Infantry Division, and Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr.

A leader of an organized crime group in southern Negros Occidental was arrested in Bangga Aning, Barangay Pahanocoy, Bacolod City Wednesday.

Chief Inspector Ruben Pajarito, Cauayan PNP OIC chief led the arresting police operatives in coordination with Police Station 8 under Senior Inspector Wilfredo Denoman.

The suspect was identified as Ritchie “Ritching” Pagunsaran Villanueva, 35, of Purok 5, Barangay Baclao, Cauayan town.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Police Station 2 missed their target to serve arrest warrants but instead arrested his son and three others having pot session inside their house in Purok Sigay, Barangay 2, Bacolod City around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Police Chief Inspector Benedicto Villarias, Police Station 2 head identified the suspects as Carlo Gemino, 28, resident of the place; Sander Suhot, 26, of Barangay Road, Purok Progreso, Barangay Sum-ag; and Joemar Pamutang, 24, of San Roque, Barangay Handumanan, Bacolod City.

Gov. Alfredo Marañon, Jr. turned over projects worth a total of P6,350,000 to hog raisers associations from the different cities and municipalities of Negros Occidental, in a ceremony held at the Provincial Veterinary Office (PVO) in Bacolod City, Thursday (March 2).

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in Bacolod City will now focus its investigation function on corruption in government as its anti-illegal drugs campaign was put on hold.

Lawyer Reinor Baldovino, the newly-designated agent in charge of the NBI-Bacolod District Office yesterday said that the agency has been conducting investigations on government corruption in the past.

Baldovino, who replaced Atty. Renato Garbo, was former executive officer of NBI in Tarlac before his assignment in Bacolod.

ASSFBI Mixed bowlers managed by Sylvia Del Rosario are surging ahead in the Men’s division with a triple score of 932 pin falls. They toppled a three-game output of 291-324-317. Squad members are team captain Oca Clemen, Boboy Villaflor, and Lea Javier.

Manila Beer Light and Colt 45 get past their respective opponents in the quarterfinals of Class B action of the Fil-Sino Asia Brewery 1st Invitational Cup Monday at Po Hang Gym of BTTHS.

Manila Beer Light hold off Rotary Club of Metro Bacolod/Rexidol-Cobra, 69-66 and while Colt 45 defeated Tanduay Ice, 73-55.

Last Saturday, ICE Sportswear-Creamy Delight eliminated Homesite-Absolute, 98-87 and Talisay Gwapo-Sunkist booted out AX Currency-Barista, 90-72 in Class A action.
