The chief of police of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) is urging victims of crimes to file charges against suspects and pursue these in court until perpetrators of crimes are put to jail.

The owner of a house was stabbed dead by his drinking mate at their house in Sweet Centre, Barangay Zone 16, Talisay City around 1:50 p.m. Tuesday.

Superintendents Adonis Rosales, Talisay City PNP chief identified the victim as Ednando Edanio, 54, married, resident of the place.

Police tagged the suspect as Michael Diojay Descalsota who sustained multiple stab wounds in the body.

He was rushed to Talisay City Community Hospital, but was declared dead on arrival by Dr. Isabel Macote.

The City of Bago held a motorcade activity around the city proper to pay tribute to its athletes who participated in and nailed the over-all bronze medal in the recently concluded Palarong Negros Island Region (NIR) held at Dumaguete City.


BAGO CITY ARNIS TEAM was declared over-all champion in the Palarong NIR paid Acting Mayor Ramon Torres visit at the Mayor’s Office recently. With them are City Councilors Cleo Gaudite and Danilo Famoso, Executive Assistant Bernadette Somcio and their coaches, and DepEd Officials.*

Family problems have led a 42-year old driver to commit suicide inside his house in Purok Tara 1, Barangay Taloc, Bago City, Negros Occidental at 4:40 p.m. Tuesday.

Police Superintendent David Cachumbo, Jr., Bago City PNP chief identified as Walter Montaño Elma, 42 years old. He used an electric cord around his neck and tie it to the beam of their house. He was rushed to Bago City Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.*

A 14-year-old boy in Barangay Calampisawan, Calatrava, Negros Occidental was electrocuted at Tuesday night.

Chief Inspector John Joel Batusbatusan, Calatrava PNP chief, identified the victim as Arnold Patoc Martinez, a resident of the place.

Martinez was fetching water from a well when he slipped and touched a live wire of an electric post of the Northern Negros Electric Cooperative (NONECO) service area.

He was rushed to Calatrava District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.*( Cyrus M. Garde)

Giraj Qui paced ESJ & Sons with 14 points; Mark Lo added 1 Ramon Ortigosa shot 9; Joseph Tiu made 7; Jan Jan Lopue produced 6 and Eduardo Ng with 5.

Harry Siendo scored 9 points to give Manila Beer Light a 15-12 opening quarter advantage.

A security guard was denied bail by the court for murder after his arrest on Tuesday in Sipalay City.

Police authorities identified the security guard as Renold Calpoporo Perater, 25, single, resident of Sitio Lag-it, Barangay 3, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental.

Judge Nilo Sarsaba of the Regional Trial Court, Branch-55 in Himamaylan City ordered the arrest of Perater around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday for double murder case in violation of Article 248 of the Revised Penal Code of the Philippines dated November 11, 2010.

A resident of Kabankalan City was raided Tuesday in his house and firearm and bullets were confiscated from him.

Superintendent Rhea Santos, Kabankalan City PNP chief identified the suspect as Pete Totor Devales, Jr., 49, single, “Alyas Bogart” of Purok 3rd Engineering Highway, Barangay Hilamonan, Kabankalan City.

Judge Rodney Magbanua of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 61, Kabankalan City issued the search warrant to his house.

Confiscated by police operatives are nine (9) live bullets of .22 caliber and one caliber .357 firearm loaded with five live bullets.
