The rapid increase of vehicles plying the different routes in Bacolod City, prodded the city legislators to resolve the creation of a highway along the coastal areas of the city. Thus, the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Bacolod City approved the resolution authored by Councilor Caesar Distrito during special session in Friday, April 7.

The brother of whistle blower Ricky Serenio who implicated policemen allegedly receiving drug payola from his boss Berya Tolentino, was shot dead at dawn yesterday in Barangay Singcang-Airport in Bacolod.
Sr. Insp. Wilfredo Denoman, chief of Bacolod Police Station 8 identified the victim as Wilmar Serenio, 31, “Alias Lok-Lok” of Purok Sampaguita 2 in Brgy. Singcang-Airport.
Wilmar was also “a pimp” (bugaw) at Goldenfield Commercial Complex also in the city.
Major General Jon Aying, commander of the 3rd Infantry Division of the Philippine Army has ordered Army commanders in Negros to double their security and coordinate with police after receiving reports of movement from the Abu Sayyaf terror group in the Sulu Sea.
Aying said that the information on the possible movement from the Muslim extremists and kidnappers in Mindanao “has been validated.”
Two inmates escaped from the Negros Occidental District Jail (NODJ) in Barangay Abuanan, Bago City early Sunday morning.
Chief Inspector Ruth Estales, district jail warden identified as Ramon Ventura Jr., 20, and Vercilito Capulong, 26.
Ventura was transferred to the NODJ in 2015 for a carnapping case, while Capulong was charged with illegal possession of firearms.
Estales said jail guards were making rounds when they noticed the two inmates were missing.
They did a head count and confirmed Ventura and Capulong were gone.

With Hernan Garciniego at the helm, Sports Journ squad smashed the season record in team triple with a staggering 1,014 pin falls and team single with 388 pfs. They also scored 308 and 318.
Garciniego also set the highest individual scores in pinning at 95, in single at 142, and in triple at 375.
Other members of the squad are Rommel Galvan, Nilo Maghari, Henry Toga, and Henceboy Cestina.
Three out of 10 “carosas” that are being used annually during the Passus or Procession of the San Sebastian Cathedral with beautiful stainless steel design were stolen.
The cover of the three carosas are made of handmade hammered stainless steel worth P 1 million stored and parked inside the rented and gated lot of Elsie Gonzaga near his residence at 10:00 o’clock in the morning recently.

A former policeman from Tanjay City was shot dead when he fought back against police operatives in an entrapment operation at his resident in Barangay 3, Tanjay City around 2:20 a.m. Sunday.
The victim was identified as Rey Antonio Saga, of legal age, “alias Itom”.

A short circuit resulted to the fire, according to an initial investigation of Bureau of Fire Protection of Himamaylan City, at the 12th Infantry Battalion, Delta Company, based in Barangay Carabalan, Himamaylan at about 6:00 a.m. Sunday.
Fire Officer 1 Junver Villaruz said, the bunker of Private First Class Filmore Lomogan went up in smoke after it engulfed the makeshift bunker made of light materials inside the camp.
1Lt. Brad Adaptani, commanding officer of 12IB, Delta Company said that occupant in the bunker was on patrol duty when the fire hit it.
